چکیده

We present the first results of AKARI Infrared Camera near-infrared spectroscopic survey of the Large Magellanic Cloud (LMC). We detected absorption features of the H2O ice 3.05μm and the CO2 ice 4.27μm stretching mode toward seven massive young stellar objects (YSOs). These samples are for the first time spectroscopically confirmed to be YSOs. We used a curve-of-growth method to evaluate the column densities of the ices and derived the CO2/H2O ratio to be 0.45±0.17. This is clearly higher than that seen in Galactic massive YSOs (0.17±0.03). We suggest that the strong ultraviolet radiation field and/or the high dust temperature in the LMC may be responsible for the observed high CO2 ice abundance. Subject headings: circumstellar matter — stars: pre–main sequence — ISM: abundances — dust, extinction — ISM: molecules — Magellanic Clouds

Massive Young Stellar Objects in the Large Magellanic Cloud : water masers and ESO - VLT 3 − 4 μ m spectroscopy

We investigate the conditions of star formation in the Large Magellanic Cloud. We have conducted a survey for water maser emission arising from massive young stellar objects in the 30 Doradus region (N 157) and several other H ii regions in the Large Magellanic Cloud (N 105A, N 113 and N 160A). We have identified a new maser source in 30 Dor at the systemic velocity of the LMC. We have obtained...

Ices in Star-Forming Regions: First Results from VLT-ISAAC

The first results from a VLT-ISAAC program on the infrared spectroscopy of deeply-embedded young stellar objects are presented. The advent of 8-m class telescopes allows high S/N spectra of low-luminosity sources to be obtained. In our first observing run, lowand medium-resolution spectra have been measured toward a dozen objects, mostly in the Vela and Chamaeleon molecular clouds. The spectra ...

Near-Infrared Spectroscopy of Very Low-Luminosity Young Stellar Objects in the Taurus Molecular Cloud

We have carried out near-infrared spectroscopic observations of 23 very low-luminosity young stellar object (YSO) candidates and 5 their companions in Heiles Cloud 2, one of the densest parts of the Taurus molecular cloud. Twelve objects were confirmed as YSOs by Brγ feature. The effective temperatures of the YSOs and of the companions are estimated from the 2.26 μm feature, the 2.21 μm feature...

Infrared spectroscopy of solid CO–CO2 mixtures and layers

The spectra of pure, mixed and layered CO and CO2 ices have been studied systematically under laboratory conditions using Transmission-Absorption Fourier Transform infrared spectroscopy. This work provides improved resolution spectra (0.5 cm) of the CO2 bending and asymmetric stretching mode, as well as the CO stretching mode, extending the existing Leiden database of laboratory spectra to matc...

Near-infrared photometry and optical spectroscopy of IRAS sources in the Small Magellanic Cloud

Near-infrared photometry is obtained of 30 IRAS sources in the direction of the Small Magellanic Cloud selected to be possible AGB stars. Low resolution 4000 to 10 000 Å spectroscopy is presented for 10 of them, plus two AGB stars in the LMC. Improved IRAS fluxes are obtained using the gipsy package. Based on the optical spectra and analyses of colour-colour diagrams 9 are confirmed or likely c...
